The Dilamezinsert is a surgical instrument that effectively combines implantation steps of dilation, measurement and needle insertion for efficient passage of the penile prosthesis.

The instrument consists of two stainless steel blades that spread apart and dilate the corporeal body when the plastic inserter is introduced. The one-step expanding action of the instrument reduces the risk of tissue trauma, enabling the surgeon to complete the surgery quickly and efficiently. This instrument is especially useful for implanting the inflatable penile prosthesis because tracks inside the dilating blades guide the plastic insert as it safely carries a needle through the corpora and the glans penis.

The Dilamezinsert (DMI) is available in a sharp tip equivalent to a number five Hegar dilator so that it easily slides through the corpora and the glans penis. The instrument is also available in a blunt tip (DMI-B) equivalent to a number seven Hegar Dilator.

The Inguinal Reservoir Inserter (IRI) is a custom made surgical instrument that enables the urologist to implant the reservoir of the inflatable penile prosthesis into the prevesical space adjacent to the bladder using the scrotal approach.

The IRI consists of two parts: the carrier and the inserter. This tool minimizes dilation of the external inguinal ring and protects the reservoir during passage.

The inserter has a smooth, polished beveled end that allows gradualdilation of the inguinal canal and safe passage of reservoir.
The distal tip of the carrier cups the junction of the reservoir, while the proximal end of the carrier is designed to efficiently occlude the reservoir tubing after the reservoir is evacuated of air or fluid.
